"Fine until it's time to cancel. I didn't have much experience with this place because I didn't file a claim or contact them in any way once I signed up for a policy, but I was up for renewal and I decided to look at other companies (as you should do). I found a policy with a competitor who was cheaper and actually better coverage. They sent a letter on my behalf to cancel. This is not my first time switching providers, but so far the biggest hassle. I get multiple texts and emails telling me to contact them once they got my cancellation notice. All they wanted from me was a copy of my new policy, which I shouldn't have given, since it was only for them to try to match the policy price, which they couldn't do. Instead, they said that while State Farm is more expensive, I'll be getting money back on something in the future if I stay with them. I didn't care. The new policy with the competitor was already paid for and I had no intention on keeping State Farm from that point. I told Emely I wasn't interested and just cancel the policy as I requested. Instead she says that she'll send me the renewal notice and price and I can think about it and then contact them to cancel...again. I get a text message again from Maria saying "you agreed to review some provided quotes to finally decide if you are willing to continue your tenancy with us", which I did not. I asked to cancel. I have since texted them back twice to confirm I want to cancel and I still have a bill pending on my account and my policy is still ongoing with State Farm, 7 days after the cancellation should have went through. Not sure why I have to tell them over 3 times that I am not interested in staying with this company.
Departing a company is the real tell of how good the service is. If it's like pulling teeth to leave, why would I ever come back? Based on my experience departing, I won't be returning if I have to go through this run around just trying to cancel a policy. I'll go back to another company who made switching providers much easier.
Edit: I received a call today from someone at the office to explain that the policy was cancelled days ago but it takes time to display this change on the website. As of now, the bill and policy have been removed. The issue still remains that I was not contacted in any way to confirm this action was taken. With no website change or reply back to my two messages, it appeared my request was sent into a void since I wasn't contacted until this review was posted. They also explained that the reason they asked for my new policy information was to confirm it was in fact myself who requested the policy be cancelled. Which is understandable, but still feels like an opportunity to retain business."
